The “Materialization” of Axel Syrios

Axel Syrios waving during his 3D Debut Showcase

Yes, Axelotls, Tempuras, Holostarmins! It’s February, and so far, the darkest times that HOLOSTARS EN TEMPUS HQ has experienced since 2023 are now a thing of the past. It’s February 2024, and we start the new year with a rising star shining brightly in the distance. In other words, our doctor, gladiator, hitman, assassin, tensai (genius), and now… IDOL of the Tempus Guild, AXEL SYRIOS!

Last night, February 3rd (PST), Axel makes his very first 3D debut with a lot of song, a lot of swag, a lot to brag, and a lot of laughs. If you haven’t seen the 3D showcase yet, do so right now!

This blog post is not a review of the entire 3D showcase, but rather just a short, reflective blog post that I wanted to share from my perspective. The embedded VOD above should give you the opportunity to watch and make your own personal reviews. This is more of sharing my thoughts and feelings about having one of my first oshis1 in the entire vTubing scene. I’ve seen 3D debut showcases of other vTubers that I watch on the side, but seeing Axel being materialized into 3D for the very first time? This is definitely history in the making for the EN side of HOLOSTARS.

How do I begin? I admit, being part of this small,2 dedicated, and supportive fans is a lot of fun. But at the same time, we all have our own issues and struggles. If you have been following TEMPUS HQ from its debut, you’re already aware of what happened. It was the last blog entry that I wrote before I went on my data analytics bootcamp hiatus, so that should explain things.

While I was on my hiatus, I did my best to keep up. I lurk on my TwitterXYZ countless of times to see how the boys are doing. At that period, I felt like I was losing interest and immersed myself completely into my bootcamp studies. I barely watched or stop by the boys’ streams, even my own kamioshi’s streams, because of my attention to my studies, career preparation and job searching, etc. Eventually, I just grew exhausted mentally that I decided to take a break and immersed myself into video games.

Still, the video games heavily reminded me of the boys. Then, a week after I received my certification, ARMIS made their debut. I admit that I don’t have quite an oshi in ARMIS yet, as I haven’t been watching a lot of their streams/VODs,3 the dormant Holostarmin fangirl in me suddenly woke up.

Altare has mentioned many things about his hopes reviving again starting in 2024, how he made a vow with Axel that 2024 will be the beginning of their journeys as idols. When he said that, my instincts have been kicking in my mind going “3D debut! 3D debut!” Then, when Altare was having internet issues and then returns online being in Japan? Definitely, 3D debut coming soon!

I’m not saying this because I’m an Altventurer/Cultare, but I was glad that they decided to go in reverse debut order, with Axel going first. After all, Axel has been in Japan since December, way longer than Altare, so he had plenty of time to prepare for that day. In addition, because there are only the two of them left in HQ, why not be random this time instead of going “Altare debuted first before Axel, why can’t he do his 3D debut first?” Minor reason, I was on a weekend vacation and was at my sister’s baby shower on the same day as Axel’s 3D showcase, so I knew I won’t be able to watch the entirety of it. Still, I watched the showcase VOD more than once now. I believe before I started writing, I’ve watched it some seven to eight times already. It’s just that good!

I don’t condone his repeated abuse towards the poor Axelotls though LOL, but it’s all for entertainment after all. And the supportive manes who portrayed the three gorimane band— so much taskaru to all three of them!

Now my Holostarmin fangirl self is in full alert now. I’m excited for Altare’s 3D debut showcase and the HQ3D collab they will be having in two weeks. I’m also excited for the day for the VG boys to get their 3D debuts too. And eventually, the same for Armis too!

It’s a short entry, so I’ll end it here. Till next time!

  1. Axel is my nioshi (2nd bias) in Tempus HQ []
  2. small, as in not overloaded in numbers just because of popularity, etc. []
  3. okay, I’m kind of leaning towards Ruze or GB… Jurard is just too loud for my ears (not a bad thing, but still…) and I haven’t seen much of Octavio’s… []
